Ingredients of Pooran Poli

  1. Prepare of For Dough.
  2. Prepare 1 cup of wheat flour.
  3. Prepare 2 tsp of oil.
  4. It's 1/2 tsp of salt.

  6. Prepare 1 cup of chana dal yellow.
  7. You need 3/4 cup of jaggery.
  8. It's 1/2 tsp of cardamom powder.
  9. It's 1/4 tsp of nutmeg grated.
  10. Prepare 1 tsp of fennel seeds crushed.
  11. It's 1 tbsp of oil.
  12. You need As needed of Ghee for frying.

Pooran Poli instructions

  1. Soak chana dal for 1/2 an hour.
  2. In a pressure cooker cook it up to 2 whistle and 5 minutes on low flame.
  3. Switch off the flame let the cooker release the pressure.
  4. Mash the dal in mixture jar with hand masher.
  5. In a pan add oil and cardamom powder fennel and nutmeg add mashed dal and stir add jaggery saute for five minutes or until form a ball shape and become thick.
  6. Keep pooran to cool now make dough.
  7. For Dough take wheat flour add salt and oil and knead smooth dough cover it and let it rest for 10/20 minutes you can take half wheat flour and half maida I have taken full wheat flour.
  8. Make balls of Pooran like lemon size.
  9. Take same size portion from dough as you have make balls from pooran.
  10. Stuffe it and roll it on the rolling board with light hands not very thick not thin.
  11. On tava at medium hot flame apply bit oil and place the rolled poli and roast it from both the sides when bit brown apply ghee and flip and do the same at other side too your pooran Poli is ready serve it with curd I have served it with curd and rabri too.
