Ingredients of Dal khichdi

  1. Prepare 1 cup of toor dal.
  2. You need 1/4 th cup of chana dal.
  3. It's 1/4 cup of masoor dal (pink).
  4. Prepare 2 tbsp of jeera.
  5. Prepare 3 tsp of ginger paste.
  6. You need 2 tsp of garlic paste.
  7. You need 6 tbsp of ghee.
  8. Prepare 3 of green chillies.
  9. Prepare 3 of onions chopped finely.
  10. Prepare 4 of tomatoes chopped finely.
  11. It's to taste of Salt acc.
  12. It's 1 tbsp of garam masala.
  13. You need 1 tsp of aamchur powder.
  14. It's 2 tsp of red chilli powder.
  15. It's 2 tsp of coriander cumin powder.
  16. It's 1 tsp of haldi.
  17. You need 2 tbsp of kasuri methi.
  18. You need 4-5 of red chillies sukka.
  19. Prepare 2 bowls of rice.
  20. Prepare As needed of Coriander leaves.

Dal khichdi instructions

  1. First wash all the 3 Dal's add jeera and 1 tsp ginger paste. Let it boil and then take 3-4 whitsles.
  2. On the other side cook the rice as you normally cook.
  3. In a pan take 3 tbsp ghee add jeera, green chillies, red sukka chilli, ginger garlic paste, salt, onion fry till light brown add tomatoes.
  4. Now add chaat masala, red chilli powder, cumin coriander powder, haldi, kasuri methi and aamchur powder and mix well till tomatoes become soft.
  5. Next add dal to it and add 2 cups of water and let it cook for 5-8 minutes on medium flame..
  6. Add the cooked rice and mix well.
  7. In a pan take ghee as it becomes hot add jeera and mustard seeds. Let it splutter.
  8. Now add this tempering on hot dalkhichdi put coriander leaves & serve with achaar.
