  1. Prepare 3-4 of medium sized potatoes(chopped).
  2. You need 1/3 cup of daal vadi.
  3. You need 1 of chopped onion.
  4. Prepare 2 of chopped tomatoes.
  5. You need 2 of green chillies.
  6. You need 1 inch of ginger.
  7. You need 2 tbsp of oil.
  8. It's Pinch of asafoetida.
  9. It's 1/4 tsp of cumin seeds.
  10. Prepare 1/4 tsp of Turmeric powder.
  11. You need 1-1.5 tsp of any spice mix.
  12. It's to taste of Salt.
  13. Prepare 1/4 tsp of garam masala.

  1. Heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan. Fry Vadi until golden brown then break it in 2 or 4 pieces..
  2. Heat 1 tbsp oil in pressure cooker. Add cumin seeds and asafoetida. Add chopped onion and saute..
  3. Add turmeric powder, all spice mix (sbji masala) and saute. Add chopped tomato saute until oil separates..
  4. Add chopped potatoes and cook it for 2 to 3 minutes..
  5. Now add Vadi and water as required and salt. Close the lid of cooker. Cook it for 2 to 3 whistles.
  6. When pressure released from cooker than open the lid and add garam masala and coriander leaves.
  7. Aalu Vadi gravy is ready.
