Ingredients of Bombay Halwa

  1. It's 1/3 cup of cornflour.
  2. It's 1 cup of powdered sugar.
  3. Prepare 1 1/3 cup of water.
  4. You need 1/4 tsp of nutmeg.
  5. Prepare 1/8 tsp of elaichi (cardamom)powder.
  6. Prepare 1 pinch of salt.
  7. You need 1/8 tsp of yellow food colour.
  8. Prepare 1 drop of green food colour.
  9. It's 8-10 of pistachios.
  10. You need 8-10 of almonds.
  11. You need 5-6 of cashew nuts.
  12. You need pinch of Saffron Strands.
  13. You need 1 tbsp of magaz(melon seeds).
  14. You need 1 tsp of kewra water.
  15. It's 2 tsp of desi ghee.

Bombay Halwa step by step

  1. Roast the almonds, pistachios and cashews in the microwave for 2 to 3 minutes. Cool and roughly chop the nuts..
  2. In a bowl take the nutmeg powder, elaichi powder, salt, kesar, cornflour, sugar powder and food colour. Give it a good mix. Next add the kewra and water and mix well..
  3. Microwave on high for 3 minutes. Remove and whisk well. Again microwave it for 3 minutes and whisk well..
  4. Add the magaz and give it a good mix. Microwave for 2 minutes. Add the chopped nuts and desi ghee and mix well..
  5. Microwave again for 4 minutes. Remove and give it a good mix..
  6. Transfer to a dish greased with some ghee and spread evenly. Let the halwa cool down and cut into bite sized pieces. Enjoy!.
