Ingredients of Kolhapuri Misal Pav
- It's 2 cups of Matki sprouted.
- Prepare 4 tbspn of oil.
- Prepare 1 tsp of mustard seeds.
- You need 1 tsp of cumin seeds.
- Prepare 1/2 tsp of hing.
- You need 5 of curry leaves.
- It's 1&1/2 tsp of turmeric powder.
- You need 1 tsp of red chilli powder.
- It's 1 tbspn of goda masala.
- Prepare 1 tsp of jaggery (optional).
- You need 4 tbspn of misal masala (see my other page for masala recipe).
- It's 3 cups of water.
- You need As per taste of Salt.
- You need For of masala paste:.
- Prepare 3 of big onions roughly chopped.
- Prepare 1 of big tomato roughly chopped.
- Prepare 1 of ginger.
- Prepare 6 of garlic cloves.
- Prepare For of garnishing:.
- Prepare As required of Mix farsan.
- You need Handful of Coriander leaves.
- Prepare As per taste of Lemon.
- You need 1 of Chopped onion.
- You need 4 of Pav.
Kolhapuri Misal Pav step by step
- First in a bowl add sprouted matki, turmeric, salt and water and pressure cook it..
- In a pan add oil. Add chopped onion, tomatoes, ginger, garlic. Saute it for 5 mins and let it cool..
- After cooling grind it..
- In a kadai add 4 tbsp oil, mustard seed, cumin seed, hing and curry leaves. Add red chilli powder and turmeric powder and immediately add the onion tomato paste..
- Saute the masala till it leaves oil at the side. And then add water, salt, goda masala, misal masala (see my page for misal masala recipe) and jaggery. And let it simmer for 10 mins.(jaggery enhance the taste of misal but it's optional)..
- Add the boiled matki and again let it simmer for 10 min. You will see the oil layer on the curry. This is called tari. You can keep 2 bowls of this tari beside before plating the misal pav..
- Now arrange your plates and add the misal.. garnish it with mixed farsan, onion, lemon and coriander leaves. Serve it with pav..
